Mardi Gras is coming to Deadwood!

Be sure to join us this weekend for tons of beads, parades, costume contests, live music, and of course, parties that put the "wild" in "Wild West"!

The Lodge at Deadwood is kicking off Mardi Gras with a $3,000 Big Show Slot Tournament at 11:00 a.m., where each and every participant will receive free Specialty Beads!

Other events include the People's Parade on Main Street, a Cajun Cook-Off, Deadwood's famous Annual Mardi Gras Parade, and more! (Please visit the Chamber of Commerce website for details.)

Black Hills Stock Show Package Winner

Congratulations to Clay Conry from Belle Fourche, SD, winner of the Live with Jim Thompson Black Hills Stock Show Package! We had 285 entries from five different states, but only one lucky winner.

This exciting package includes:

The 2012 Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo is kicking off on Friday, January 27, and we can't wait for the festivities to begin! In addition to the rodeo, all of your favorite events are back—the popular Sheepdog Trials, Mutton Bustin’ Championships, National Sheep Shearing Championships, Buffalo Sale, a Petting Zoo for the kids, and much, much more.

 

Ski slopes to open this weekend

Officials at Ski Mystic and Terry Peak outside the Deadwood-Lead area eagerly anticipate this weekend. “Things are looking good,” Terry Peak spokeswoman Linda Derosier said of prospects for this season. “The Stewart and Surprise slopes will be open Dec. 3 and 4.”
